We have a theatre - but no play!

Next spring's production is in jeopardy

We have Tunturikadun vieräilunäyttömö (previously Puoli.Q) booked from the 17th-29th April, but no firm proposal for a main spring production. If we still have nothing by the AGM, we may have to cancel the spring production, which would be a great shame following our 30th anniversary year.

If you have an idea (that you are willing to direct), then please contact the committee ASAP. We have people willing to help bring your vision to life, but need to have proposals by the 15th January, with an approval and auditions held before the AGM on the 28th January.

So, now is the time to ask not what the Players can do for you, but what you can do for the Players!

Attention all directors, past and future! (2011)

Dear People Who Direct Plays (or have directed plays),

As a member of our mailing list, you are invited to consider directing a play this Autumn. We have a theatre, we have willing and very capable actors, and we are looking to offer all the support you need to direct a play with the Finn-Brit Players.

Why are we asking? Because we don't have a director.
Who is eligible? Well... someone who can direct, and brings along a play of their choosing.
Any limitations? Yes... the director will be invited to chat about the play with some of the Finn-Brit Players Committee to see if everything is ok. The stage is not too big - so you won't have to stress about a huge set and furniture moving.

If you had the right support and a great cast, would you be interested?

Please let us know by June 30th, and you can start rehearsals in August. Lights up on the following dates: November 5th - 8th, 12th, and 13th.

Proposal deadline for the 2011 autumn production

Do you have a play in mind you wish to see staged? KokoTeatteri has been booked 5–8 and 12–13 November and we are looking for a production and director to fill it.

If anyone is interested in directing it, we are considering staging the recent hit 'Bride of Christ' ('Kristuksen Morsian', 2010), written by Heini Junkkaala, translated by David Hackston. But all other proposals are very welcome. Please fill in a proposal and submit it to the committee by 29th May. See the following web page for more details: www.finnbritplayers.com/proposals
