Strange Season

Superior A Theatre will be supporting the Save the NoName Theatre! campaign with a virtual play reading of Strange Season by Ahti Tolvanen on 17, 18 & 19 May 2021 at 7 pm and 5 & 26 June 2021 at 8:30 pm. (The June streams will include a live commentary session with the actors.)

A play about passions that drive us to the ends of the earth....

A clandestine Spanish rendezvous with an old flame. “Will he notice I am expecting before he leaves his rich wife?" she wonders.

She runs into an industrial spy for the coal lobby who is plotting the collapse of the Madrid climate talks. Should she reveal the spy to her new acquaintance, the scientist attending to give his report on the imminent collapse of the arctic glaciers and the global climate system?

“Will being a whistleblower ruin my and the baby's last chance for happiness? Does that man following me have a gun?”

Flamenco guitars in the night interrupt her tortured thoughts.

Directed by Ahti Tolvanen.

An Evening with JM Barrie

Passport Theatre Logo WhitePassport Theatre will be supporting the Save the NoName Theatre! campaign with a virtual reading at 7 pm on 24 April 2021.

Passport Theatre presents two one act plays by J.M. Barrie. Although he is famous for penning Peter Pan, in fact most of Barrie’s plays were written for adults. We are delighted to offer two of his later one-acts, The Twelve-Pound Look (1914), and Seven Women (1928). Both are charming miniatures that show a slice of early 20th century life and feature strong, progressive women characters – and dilemmas and solutions that are surprisingly modern. To refresh the palate, John Millar will perform an intermission musical interlude.  Please join us.

The Food Chain

Welcome to our stage reading of The Food Chain by Nicky Silver!

If you didn't have an appetite before entering the theatre, you will by the time this play starts.

On the surface, The Food Chain might look like a bunch of self-centred narcissists living an overly privileged life. But really, at its very core, it's about sex, beauty and rocky road. We bring you comedy (or a tragedy masked as comedy) straight from Manhattan in the mid 90s. Expect neuroses to be developed, defined and subject to abject reinforcement.

This stage reading is directed by Elina Jackson.
