Annual General Meeting 2015

WHAT: The Finn-Brit Players' AGM with FREE DRINKS and snacks
WHEN: Friday 23rd January 2015 at 7:00 pm
WHERE: FINNBRIT, Fredrikinkatu 20 A, Helsinki (MAP)

Welcome to the Finn-Brit Players Annual General Meeting on 23 January 2015, at 7:00 pm.

At the AGM, the future of the association is decided: membership fees are set, a new committee is elected, the old one evaluated, and the new budget adopted. The proposed activity plan will also be presented and your suggestions for additional activities, events and productions will be most welcome. Snacks and refreshments will be available.

You can download the agenda for the 2015 AGM here. An active society needs active members, so please come along and have your say!

If you really want to influence how the society is run and make it even more active, then why not run for committee! Fill in the form included with the agenda, have your nomination signed by two other members of the Finn-Brit Players, and return it to a committee member before the AGM begins. You can get the signatures at the meeting itself and return it right before the meeting starts.

Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting, but only members for 2014 are eligible to vote. The membership fee will be decided at the meeting, after which annual subscriptions for 2015 will be due. Please note that new members may not be registered for a period of two weeks before the date of the AGM. See you on 23 January! And remember, free drinks and snacks!

80s Halloween Evening

halloween-party-pumpkinsWHAT? 80s Halloween Evening (Facebook event)
WHEN? Friday 31 October at 7:00pm
WHERE? FINNBRIT, Fredrikinkatu 20 A, Helsinki (map)

Remember the 80s?

Pretty horrific, fashion-wise. Terror-inducing, musically.

Oh, and don't forget the frightening array of horror films and all their sequels. Who ya gonna call? Because in space, no one can hear you scream...

For Halloween this year, The Players are proud to present a special screening of an 80s horror-comedy classic, Gremlins.

Doors open at 7 pm. We will start the film at 8 pm and add a few scary surprises here and there. Refreshments are also available at an affordable price... just not after midnight. We don't want any ugly monsters. You may also BYOB.

So put on your biggest shoulder-pads, wear all your wrist-bangles, go Wacko-Jacko or take your cue from classic 80s horror films... or come as you are. Let's go crazy, 80s style!

The Finn-Brit Players 2014 Summer Picnic

Crazy Tea Party

WHAT: Crazy Summer Tea Party
WHEN: Saturday 14th June 2014, 3 pm onwards
WHERE: Tervasaari, Helsinki (Map)

'Have some wine,' the March Hare said in an encouraging tone.
Alice looked all round the table, but there was nothing on it but tea.
'
I don't see any wine,' she remarked.
'There isn't any,' said the March Hare.
'Then it wasn't very civil of you to offer it,' said Alice angrily.

The Players' annual summer party gets a distinctly wonderlandish spin. Think Alice, rabbit holes, eat me/drink me, labels, croquet, mad hatters galore...

To avoid a nothing-but-tea situation, bring beverages – and snacks to share. As tradition dictates, the first to arrive will get complimentary bubbly. So don't be late!

Dress code: Interpret the party theme as you wish! (But do incorporate it somehow.)

In case of rain we will move the party to the nearest pub, please call Stina on 044 323 7467 in case of rain. Please note we are starting at 3 pm instead of 2 pm.
